Ohana (family) Surf Lessons was established in 2020 and is local family owned and operated out of Kailua Kona. We provide both new visitors and island residents with quality, personalized and educational surfing experiences that are safe and fun for the whole family! Our goal is to give everyone of our students a unique, comfortable, safe , educational and memorable Hawaiian surfing experience, specializing in beginners of all ages teaching you the proper technique and surf etiquette.

Lifetime Native Hawaiian surfer Kaleo Waiwaiole owner, operator and instructor of Ohana Surf Lessons was born and raised in Hawaii and grew up in Kailua Kona. Having been raised around the ocean his entire life Kaleo started surfing at the age of 5 and has worked in the surf school and commercial boating industry since age 15. As an overall waterman who has always enjoyed surfing, diving, paddling outrigger canoe and many other ocean activities. It was always a dream and a goal to own and operate his own surf school out of his home town of Kailua Kona. By using his acquired skills in the water after years of teaching lessons and his knowledge of the surf school industry Kaleo made his dream a reality by founding "Ohana Surf Lessons" at age 25 and by now has taken out over a thousand people surfing since his youth, Ohana Surf Lessons aims to continue providing people of all ages with a positive surfing experience here in Hawaii.
